The cast list of actors and actresses in the Harry Potter films (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secret, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows) are all of British origin. The three main characters in the film: The "Boy-Who-Live" Harry Potter and his two best friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger were portrayed by then unknown actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. These two actors and actress played the characters in all of the 7 movies.
HOGWARTS TEACHERS AND DENIZENS
Richard St. John Harris portrayed the great wizard Albus Dumbledore in the first two movies. When Richard Harris died on October 25th, 2002, he was replaced by Michael Gambon in the succeeding Harry Potter films. Toby Regbo played the young Dumbledore in the two-part final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Alfred Burke portrayed previous Headmaster Armando Dippet in the 2nd movie. Carolyn Pickles portrayed Charity Burbage, who is the Muggle Studies teacher in the 7th book that Voldemort tortured and killed, in the Deathly Hallows.
Robbie Coltrane portrayed Hogwarts Gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid in all of the 7 movies. Martin Bayfield played a young Hagrid in Chamber of Secrets. David Bradley portrayed the squib Argus Filch in all of the Harry movies. Charms teacher Filius Flitwick was portrayed by Warwick Davis in all of the Potter films except in Prisoner of Azkaban.
Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank, who replaced Rubeus Hagrid as the Care of Magical Creatures teacher in the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban after the Draco Malfoy-Buckbeak incident, was portrayed by Apple Brooke. Rolanda Hooch, who is Hogwarts' Quidditch instructor, was portrayed by Zoe Wanamaker in the 1st film.
Kenneth Branagh portrayed the braggart Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart in Chamber of Secrets. Dame Maggie Smith portrayed Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall in all of the Potter films. Sally Mortemore portrayed Hogwarts librarian Irma Pince in the 2nd movie.
Gemma Jones portrayed Hogwarts Head Nurse Poppy Pomfrey in the 2nd and 6th films and she will reprise her role in the final movie. Quirinus Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who was possessed by Lord Voldemort in the first movie, was portrayed by Ian Hart. Jim Broadbent portrayed the ambitious Potions Master Horace Slughorn in the 6th and final movie. Severus Snape, Hogwart's Potions Master from the Philosopher's Stone up until the Order of the Phoenix, was played by Alan Rickman. Alec Hopkins played a young Severus Snape in the 5th and 6th films. Miriam Margoyles played Herbology teacher Pomona Sprout in Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows. Eccentric Divination teacher Sybill Trelawney was played Emma Thompson in the Chamber of Secrets and Order of the Phoenix.
HOGWARTS DENIZENS (NON-HUMAN)
The non-human denizens of Hogwarts are composed of magical beings like talking portraits and Hogwarts House ghosts. Slytherin's Bloody Baron was portrayed by Terence Bayler in the 1st film. Silly talking portrait Sir Cadogan, who was the temporary guardian of the Gryffindor Tower entrance after The Fat Lady was attacked by Sirius Black in Prisoner of Azkaban, was portrayed by Paul Whitehouse in the 3rd movie.
Sam Beazly portrayed Everard in the 5th film. Hufflepuff Ghost the Fat Friar was played by Simon Fisher-Becker in the first film. Gryffindor Tower's entrance portrait guardian, The Fat Lady, was played by Elizabeth Spriggs in Philosopher's Stone and Dawn French in the Prisoner of Azkaban. Ravenclaw's The Grey Lady was played by Nina Young in the 1st and 2nd film. Moaning Myrtle, a girl that died when the basilisk of the Chamber of Secrets was first released, was played by Shirley Henderson in Chambers of Secrets and Goblet of Fire.
Gryffindor House ghost was Sir Nicholas De Mimsy-Porpington (Nearly Headless Nick) was played by John Cleese in the 1st and 2nd movie. Former Hogwarts Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black's portrait was played by John Atterbury in the 5th movie. Rick Mayall played Peeves the Poltergeist in the first movie while Leslie Phillips voiced the Sorting Hat in the Philosopher's Stone.
STUDENTS OF HOGWARTS
Hufflepuff Hannah Abbott was played by Charlotte Skeoch in the 2nd and 4th movie. Marcus Belby was played by Robert Knox in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Emi Dale played Katie Bell in the first and second movie while Georgina Leonidas played the character in the 6th movie. Susan Bones was played by Eleanor Columbus in the 1st and 3rd movie. Miles Bletchley was portrayed by David Churchyard in the Chamber of Secrets. Jennifer Smith played Lavender Brown in Chamber of Secrets while the character was portrayed by Jessie Cave in 6th and 7th films.
Helen Stuart portrayed Millicent Bulstrode in the 2nd film. Katie Leung played Cho Chang, Harry's first crush in the Goblet of Fire until Deathly Hallows. Gemma Padley played Penelope Clearwater in Chamber of Secrets. Jamie Waylett played Vincent Crabbe in all of the six films. Hugh Mitchell played Colin Creevey in the 2nd film. Henry Lloyd Hughes played Roger Davies in Goblet of Fire.
Robert Pattinson played Cedric Diggory in the 4th film. Edward Randell portrayed Hufflepuff Justin Finch-Fletchley in the 2nd movie. Slytherin Quidditch captain Marcus Flint was played by Jamie Yeats in the 1st and 2nd film. Seamus Finnigan was portrayed by Devon Murray in all of the 7 movies.
Joshua Herdman played Slytherin bully Gregory Goyle in all of the 7 movies as well. Will Theakston portrayed Terrence Higgs in the 1st movie. Danielle Tabor played Angelina Johnson in the 1st three films but Tiana Benjamin replaced her in Goblet of Fire.
Leann, Katie Bell's best friend was played by Isabella Laughland in the 6th film. Quidditch commentator Lee Jordan was played by Luke Youngblood in the 1st two movies. Matthew Lewis portrayed Neville Longbottom in all of the 7 movies. Evanna Lynch played Luna Lovegood in the 5th to 7th film.
Louis Doyle played Ernie Macmillan in Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire. Slytherin Draco Malfoy was portrayed by Tom Felton in Philosopher's Stone until Half Blood Prince. He will reprise his role in the final film. Arrogant Cormac Mclaggen was played by Fred Stroma in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Nigel was played by William Melling from Goblet of Fire up to the Half Blood Prince. Pansy Parkinson was portrayed by Genevieve Gaunt in Prisoner of Azkaban and she was replaced by Scarlett Byrne in the 6th movie. The other half of the Patil twins, Ravenclaw Padma Patil was played by Afshan Azad in the 4th and 5th movie. Gryffindor Parvati Patil was portrayed by Sitara Shah in the 3rd movie but she was replaced by Shefali Chowdhury in the 4th to 6th movie.
Scott Fearn portrayed Adrian Pucey in the 1st and 2nd film. Nick Smith played Zacarias Smith in the 5th movie. Gryffindor Quidditch chaser Alicia Spinnet was played by Leilah Sutherland in the 1st movie and Rochelle Douglas in the 2nd movie. Alfred Enoch portrayed Dean Thomas from Philosopher's Stone up to the Half Blood Prince.
Anna Shafer played Romilda Vane in the 6th movie. Fred and George Weasley were portrayed by James and Oliver Phelps in all of the 7 movies
Harry Potter's love interest and the youngest of the Weasley siblings were portrayed by Bonnie Wright in all of the 7 films. Sean Biggerstaff played Gryffindor Quidditch captain Oliver Wood in the 1st and 2nd movie. Louis Cordice played Blaise Zabini in the 6th and final film.

Regulus Black, Sirius Black's younger brother was played by Tom Moorcroft in the 6th film. Death eater siblings Alecto and Amycus Carrow were portrayed by Suzie Toase and Ralph Ineson respectively in the 6th film. David Tennant played Barty Crouch Jr. in Goblet of Fire.
Vicious Werewolf Alpha Fenrir Greyback was played by David Leno in the 6th and final film. Helena Bonham-Carter played Bellatrix Lestrange in Order of the Phoenix up to the Deathly Hallows. Peter Best played Walden Macnair in the third movie and fifth movie.
Jason Isaacs played Lucius Malfoy in the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th movie. Tony Coburn played the young Lucius Malfoy in the 6th movie. Narcissa Malfoy was portrayed by Helen McCrory in the 6th and final movie. Timothy Spall played Peter Pettigrew in the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th movie.

Grawp, Hagrid's giant half-brother, was played by Tony Maudsley in the 5th movie.
Verne Troyer played Gringotts goblin Griphook in the 1st movie. He was replaced by Warwick Davis in the last film. Kreacher, the Black family's house elf, was voiced by Timothy Bateson in the 5th movie and Simon McBurney in the 7th movie.
Magorian was portrayed by Michael Wildman in the 5th movie. Charlie Bennison portrayed the Sanguini in the 6th film. Lenny Henry voiced the Shrunken Head in Prisoner of Azkaban.
