Computer speed test software helps you narrow down what is slowing down your computer. While there are many in depth solutions you can try, it's recommended that you review the potential quick fixes and see if this solves your problem.
Computer Speed Test- Uninstall Old Software
Over the months or years you've had your computer, you've probably installed lots of software. Much of the software probably isn't being used by you anymore and that software should able removed.
To uninstall old software, click on the start menu, then control panel, then add or remove programs. From this menu, uninstall software that you don't recognize using in the last few months.
Be careful what you uninstall, as you can't get it back once it's gone. I recommend trying the most common problem first, listed at the end of this article.
Computer Speed Test- Clear Unused Disk Space
As you install software, download files, and use your computer, much of your disk space will start to get used up. Think of full disk space as a clogged pipe in the plumbing of your house: it needs to be cleaned so that the computer will run smoothly in the future.
To clear up old disk space, go to My Computer, right click on the C drive, and choose properties. From there, you will find disk cleanup on one of the menus, where you can easily clear out old disk space that you're not using.
The Most Common and Easiest Computer Speed Solution
Your computer's registry is where instructions for the computer are stored. If too many instructions get piled up, your computer will start to go very slow. To solve this issue, you need to clear your registry of old instructions.
